Saw your article Aug. 4 on “Book Lover’s Story Is a Good Read.”
It is very inspiring and points out an educational need, not bilingual education, etc., which only closes doors.
As a child from a mixed-up family whose escape from home and the classroom was with books and the library, I would like to encourage childhood reading, not by buying more books for the library, etc., but motivating children to read.
Let me say that it is we who should thank Khai Khoung for coming to America--for having a child like Don, for preserving his ethnic background and for injecting into American life hope, vitality, knowledge and a desire to succeed.
And thank you for your article.
