HEADING INN: The latest hotel occupancy rates should give a boost to the sullied spirits of Orange County’s hoteliers. . . . Hotel rooms were 75.2% filled in July, compared to 74.3% in July of last year, the consulting firm Pannell Kerr Forster in Irvine reports. That marks a turnaround from June, which got the summer off to a slow start. “We’re not out of the woods yet, but we’re heading in the right direction,” PKF’s Rick Schwartz says.
