Video Rental Chart : ‘Wolves’ Dances to the Top

“Dances With Wolves” finally waltzed past “Home Alone” to the top of the Billboard magazine rental chart after an unusually high number of defective copies had somewhat reduced the rental figures. It’s rare for a foreign-language film to rise high and fast on the charts and “La Femme Nikita,” a “Miami Vice”-style French movie, is one of the hottest, jumping from No. 26 to No. 15.
* “The Hard Way” didn’t have a hard time rocketing to No. 8 in its first week. This action/comedy stars Michael J. Fox as an actor who, doing on-the-job research for a movie, winds up working with a cop (James Woods). It grossed a respectable $25 million at the box office.
