Stevenson Named Assistant Football Coach at Valley

Tom Stevenson, the Taft High football coach from 1984-90, will serve as an assistant at Valley College next season, Valley Coach Jim Fenwick said Thursday.
Stevenson, a teacher at Taft, did not coach football at the Woodland Hills school last season.
He guided the Toreadors to a 41-27 record and five league championships.
“We talked about him coaching here off and on all season,” Fenwick said. “But he wanted to take this season off before he started coaching again.”
Stevenson will work with the defense.
Valley was 4-6 last season, Fenwick’s first as Valley’s head coach.
