A 38-year-old student was found dead in his Emerald Hills home early Friday morning, and a Navy seaman was arrested in the case, San Diego police said.
Agripino Delosreyes, a student at Coleman College, was found lying on his living room floor at 3 a.m., San Diego police spokesman Bill Robinson said.
Christopher Martin Betenbaugh, a Navy seaman stationed on the dock landing ship Germantown, was arrested in the killing after he phoned police from the 5200 block of Hilltop Drive and told them there was a man there he believed was dead, Robinson said.
Police arrived to find Betenbaugh still talking to officers on the phone and Delosreyes lying on the floor wearing only his socks, Robinson said.
An autopsy is scheduled for today, the coroner’s office said.
