“BAIL OUT PARTY”-- Free Christmas pets will be given away to families during the Tailwagger Foundation/Mercy Crusade’s 42nd Annual Christmas “Bail Out Party” on Monday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until noon, at all six city of Los Angeles animal care and control centers. All costs for impound, license, inoculations and spay/neuter fees will be picked up by the sponsoring organizations. For more information, call (213) 893-8400.
HOMELESS--The city of South Gate will hold its first free community Christmas dinner for the homeless and other needy residents from noon to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at South Gate Parkview Foursquare Church, 9512 Pinehurst Ave. Volunteers will serve turkey, dressing, baked ham, potatoes and other holiday dishes. City officials plan to roam the streets in a van to pick up those needing a ride. Anyone who wants to volunteer should drop by the church Christmas morning, or call (213) 563-9532.
