The Coast Guard cutter Point Camden changed its home port Monday from San Pedro to Santa Barbara.
The 82-foot cutter, which served the Los Angeles and Long Beach communities for 22 years, was involved in 1,500 search and rescue missions and 3,000 law enforcement boardings during that period, said Petty Officer Jamie Devitt.
Its patrol responsibility will be divided among other Coast Guard boats in Los Angeles, Newport Beach, Alamitos Bay and Marina del Rey.
