Employees of a fruit company found the carcasses of 63 racing greyhounds while clearing a remote orchard in Chandler, Ariz., that hadn’t been worked in three years.
The carcasses were in various stages of decomposition, and their left ears were removed, said Chris Ippolito, a foreman for Empire Fruit Co. Greyhounds bred for racing carry identifying tattoos on their left ears.
