Giancarlo Parretti Released from Jail: A court in Siracusa, Sicily, ordered the release of the financier who had been in jail since Dec. 27 on charges of tax fraud, the Italian news agency ANSA reported. Parretti had been under investigation by authorities in Rome and Sicily for alleged tax evasion in his Italian-based companies. ANSA said the court placed no restrictions on travel by Parretti. Parretti led a buyout bid of MGM-Pathe Communications.
