COLLEGE ROUNDUP : UNLV Routs Anteaters in Women’s Basketball

UC Irvine allowed the game’s first 11 points Thursday night en route to a 95-60 Big West Conference women’s basketball loss at Nevada Las Vegas, the Anteaters’ fourth consecutive defeat.

Guard Karie Yoshioka led the Anteaters (4-9, 0-4 in conference) with 14 points and center Beth Beers added 10. Sharon Hargrove had 22 for the Rebels (5-4, 4-0), winners of four in a row.

Irvine was outrebounded, 62-33.

In Big West Conference women’s swimming:

UC Irvine 131, San Jose State 69--Robin Palmero won the 200- and 500-yard freestyles as the Anteaters (8-2, 1-1) won nine of 11 races at the Crawford Hall pool.
