Pierce College football players Bruce Dotson, Dan Erickson and Corey Alter have either signed with or made commitments to four-year schools, Coach Bill Norton said Wednesday.
Dotson, an All-Western State Conference South Division cornerback, has made a commitment to Montana.
Erickson, a 6-foot-2, 250-pound offensive guard, signed a scholarship letter with Cal State Fullerton, and Alter (6-2, 250), a center, signed a letter of intent with Northwestern Oklahoma State, an NAIA Division I school.
Ventura College sophomore outfielder Mitch King, a Camarillo High graduate, has signed a letter of intent with Texas Tech, Ventura Coach Gary Anglin said.
King was a second-team All-Western State Conference designated-hitter last season when he batted .386. He is expected to start in left field this season and be a backup catcher for Ventura.
Tony Valencia of Antelope Valley, a 6-5, 260-pound sophomore center, signed a letter of intent with Weber State during the recent signing period, according to Antelope Valley football Coach Brent Carder. Valencia was a second-team All-Foothill Conference selection last season and a first-team pick in 1990.
Anthony Jones, a cornerback from Kennedy High, has committed to play next season at Nevada, an NCAA Division I-AA school in the Big Sky Conference.
Jones (6-foot, 185 pounds) also took a recruiting trip to Hawaii. Jones was a three-year letterman for the Golden Cougars and never missed a start in his varsity tenure.
