NEW INTEREST: Although blacks make up only 1.8% of Orange County’s 2.4 million population, the Historical and Cultural Foundation of Orange County expects big demand by schools, libraries and other groups for information during Black History Month. President Nancy King says the foundation’s traveling displays have “a variety of things representing traditional African and Afro-American culture over the years, ranging from postage stamps honoring blacks to dolls, handwoven baskets and art.”
