NEW INTEREST: Although blacks make up only 1.8% of Orange County’s 2.4 million population, the Historical and Cultural Foundation of Orange County expects big demand by schools, libraries and other groups for information during Black History Month. (B1). . . . President Nancy King says the foundation’s traveling displays have “a variety of things representing traditional African and Afro-American culture over the years, ranging from postage stamps honoring blacks to dolls, handwoven baskets and art.”
