In other men’s basketball games:
Canyons 78, West Los Angeles 62--David Langley scored 19 of his game-high 25 points in the second half for the Cougars (18-6, 3-1) in the Western State Conference South Division win. Rasaan Hall added 19 for the Cougars.
COLLEGE BASEBALL
The Master’s 2-11, Cal State San Bernardino 8-8--Tony MacCaughtry had two home runs and a single, driving in five runs, to spark the visiting Mustangs to a second-game win and a split of a season-opening doubleheader.
Pierce 18, Citrus 0--Robby Welles paced a 16-hit attack with his second grand slam in as many games as visiting Pierce (2-0) cruised to a second-round win in the Foothill-Citrus tournament.
Welles, who hit two home runs Friday in the Brahmas’ 19-3 victory over Glendale, was four for six with six runs batted in.
Pierce’s Josh Smaler also hit a home run, his second.
Moorpark 8, Oxnard 7--Moorpark scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to win the second-round game of the Rancho Santiago tournament. Daryl Hernandez and Tom Lunsford each hit home runs for Moorpark (1-1).
San Mateo 5, Canyons 4--San Mateo’s Jason Piccolotti hit a two-run single with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning in a consolation-bracket game of the Cerritos-Fullerton tournament.
Pasadena 7, Valley 5--Tommy Phillips went three for four, and Mike Engler, Ian McHale and Mike Murray each had two hits for Valley (0-2) in a consolation-bracket game of the San Diego Mesa tournament.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Chaffey 66, Antelope Valley 63--Paula Page had 22 points and 16 rebounds, but the host Marauders (17-7, 6-1) suffered their first Foothill Conference loss.
Chaffey is 22-6, 6-1.
Ventura 67, Moorpark 51--Cori Herman paced Ventura (3-0 in conference play) with 25 points in a Western State Conference game. Tamara Pacheco scored 22 points for Moorpark (9-14, 1-2).
Fresno Pacific 105, Cal Lutheran 29--Cathy Clayton and Kathy Westby each scored eight points for Cal Lutheran (0-13).
Valley 86, Glendale 61--Amy Horst and Andrea Hoffman combined for 29 points and 20 rebounds off the bench to boost the Monarchs (23-3, 9-0) in a WSC South Division game.
MEN’S TRACK
Northern Arizona 89, CS Northridge 37; Fresno State 85, CS Northridge 41; Fresno State 66, Northern Arizona 60--Ryan Vierra set a personal best of 56 feet 6 inches to win the shotput for Northridge in the double-dual meet at the Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff, Ariz.
WOMEN’S TRACK
Fresno State 72, CS Northridge 37; Northern Arizona 56, CS Northridge 51; Fresno State 67, Northern Arizona 41--Kim Young and Teresa Stricklin were individual winners for Northridge in the double-dual meet at the Walkup Skydome.
Young, a junior, timed 8.03 seconds in the 55-meter low hurdles, and freshman Stricklin won the shotput with an effort of 44-0.
