A San Ysidro man was arrested Thursday night after he and his two sons became involved in a brawl that left a San Diego police officer with a broken nose, officials said.
About 8 p.m., police responded to a complaint of noise in the 1700 block of Isla del Companero where they encountered Filiberto Mendoza, whom they tried to arrest on suspicion of being publicly drunk, police spokesman Bill Robinson said. But before officers could arrest Mendoza, a fight broke out between six officers and Mendoza and his two sons.
One officer’s nose was broken during the fight, Robinson said.
Mendoza was being held on suspicion of resisting an officer, making loud noise, and drunk and disorderly conduct, Robinson said. His two sons were also arrested.
