FRIDAY’S BOYS’ BASKETBALL : Mission Viejo Playoff Streak Runs Into Trabuco Hills

The Mission Viejo High School boys’ basketball team, which has won three consecutive postseason games, will play host to top-seeded Trabuco Hills in the Division II-A Southern Section playoffs Friday night at Capistrano Valley High.

Mission Viejo (9-17) has beaten Cypress, Savanna and Los Amigos to reach the quarterfinals after winning only six games during the season. All quarterfinal games will be played at neutral sites.

The quarterfinal pairings involving Orange County teams:

Division I-AA: Capistrano Valley (25-3) vs. Alhambra (19-7) at San Gabriel High.

Division I-A: Dominguez (19-7) vs. Mater Dei (28-1) at Ocean View High.
