A Beautiful Champ: Of the two-dozen pictures that opened during the holidays, Walt Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” has emerged as the box-office champ. It has played in theaters longer than any of its nearest competitors, and showed an increase in business after getting an Oscar nomination for best picture last week. The animated musical feature has grossed $114 million in 15 weeks of nationwide release, the Disney company said. As of Wednesday night, TriStar Pictures’ release of Steven Spielberg’s “Hook” had grossed $113.8 million in 11 weeks. Paramount Pictures’ “The Addams Family” has taken in about $110 million after 14 weeks.
