PUMPING INSULIN: Diabetes won’t stop two Mission Viejo runners from competing in today’s Los Angeles Marathon, with their insulin pumps attached. . . . Fellow diabetics will monitor Mark Bender and Mark Turner along the 26-mile course for signs of low blood sugar. Turner says members of his diabetic support group “know the signs to look for.”
