Magic Is a Big Part of the MVP Story

Well, it’s March, but the Magic is missing from March Madness.
I refer not to the NCAA tournament, but rather to the NBA MVP debate. Remember Magic vs. Bird debates in the early 1980s? Then later in the decade, it became Magic vs. Michael. This debate seemed to emphasize the question, “Whose team would do better without its star?” Such logic gave Michael Jordan a couple of nods.
Based on the same logic, there is an obvious choice for this season’s MVP award: Magic Johnson.
