Alberto Tomba of Italy added the World Cup giant slalom trophy to his Olympic gold medal in the next-to-last race of the men’s season at Crans-Montana, Switzerland.
Skiing the two fastest heats in the winter’s last giant slalom, he beat Norwegians Kjetil Andre Aamodt and Didrik Marksten.
Tomba’s two-run time of 2 minutes 36.23 seconds was 0.65 seconds faster than Aamodt.
