France Reportedly Will Cut Tactical A-Forces

PARIS — France will cut its tactical nuclear forces from five to three short-range missile regiments, military sources said.
The cuts later this year would not affect France’s more powerful strategic arsenal of missile-firing submarines, bomber aircraft and long-range, land-based missiles.
The decision was apparently designed as a unilateral gesture to accompany global disarmament moves, the sources said.
