WHO’S NEXT? With UCI Chancellor Jack W. Peltason set to become president of the UC system this fall, speculation is rife about a successor. . . . Among the names circulating are two from UCI: psychobiologist James L. McGaugh and German professor William Lillyman, plus former UCI chemistry professor Marjorie Caserio, UC San Diego’s vice chancellor of academic affairs. . . . There’s no decision yet on whether there will be an interim chancellor or a national search.
