Gen. Powell Visits Kohl

BONN — Gen. Colin L. Powell, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, met Chancellor Helmut Kohl on Monday to discuss defense polices in the new Europe. As part of the post-Communist defense structure in Europe, a strong American military presence in Germany is imperative, Kohl told Powell.
