Mark Lenzi scored 611.94 points to win the gold medal in the one-meter event at the National Diving Championships in Ann Arbor, Mich., beating Chuck Wade by 22.71 points. The one-meter is not an Olympic event. However, the top four finishers qualify for the 1992 U.S. national team.
In the women’s platform semifinals, Ellen Owen scored 393.60 points to top a field of 35. The top 13 will qualify for the U.S. Olympic diving trials.
