February Restaurant Closures

The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services has the power to shut down food facilities for as short or as long a period of time as necessary for the owners to correct conditions that pose a danger to the public health. Here is a list of the restaurants closed and the reasons for closure during February. Adam’s Rib--1228 W. Francisquito Ave., West Covina. Closed 2/13 to 2/14. Sewage system failure, no toilet facilities.

Ana Maria’s Snack Bar--5858 E. Whittier Blvd., L.A. Closed 2/11; reopened same day. No potable water supply or no hot water.

Art’s Coffee Shop--4459 Eagle Rock Blvd., L.A. Closed 2/7 to 2/14. No potable water supply or no hot water, vermin infestation, sewage system failure, unsanitary equipment.

Baldomer Birrieria Restaurant--3200 S. Maple St., L.A. Closed 2/19 and remains closed.* Vermin infestation, unsanitary equipment.

Bibbs Family Billiards Cafeteria--12010 Long Beach Blvd., Lynwood. Closed 2/20 and remains closed.* No plans submitted, no public health permit.

Bonanza--14610 Baldwin Park Town Center, Baldwin Park. Closed 2/28; reopened same day. Poor general sanitation, sewage system failure.

Camelions Restaurant--246 26th St., Santa Monica. Closed 2/13; reopened same day. No potable water supply or no hot water.

Choo Choo’s Burger Stop--4014 Eagle Rock Blvd., L.A. Closed 2/19 to 2/20. Sewage system failure.

Crush Drive-In Restaurant--7500 S. Broadway, L.A. Closed 2/18; reopened same day. Employees without hair nets, improper sanitizing or storage of multiuse utensils.

El Rey Del Taco--12223 Long Beach Blvd., Lynwood. Closed 2/18 and remains closed.* Improper sanitizing or storage of multiuse utensils.
