Tokyo Drug Case: Jazz drummer Al Foster of the Herbie Hancock band was convicted of heroin smuggling Wednesday in Tokyo and was given a two-year suspended sentence. In his ruling, the judge said “the influence on society from a prominent musician is very big,” but added that the amount of heroin was small and Foster admitted his guilt.
