It’s a Naive Domestic Columbian Wine

Eugene Shapiro, a cellar worker at David Coleman’s Adler Fels Winery in the Sonoma Valley, thought up the idea of Christopher Columbus as a wine brand name and Coleman has licensed it to Wente Bros. for international shipments, using the licensing fees to market Christopher Columbus wines in California. “I thought it was going to be a limited project,” says Coleman, “but this thing is as big as my ability to keep up with it.” Asked what the wine is like, he replied: “What’s the difference? It’s selling.”
