2nd Murder Trial in ‘Billionaire Boys’ Case

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Courtroom adversaries Joe Hunt and Dean Karny--former leaders of the Billionaire Boys Club--faced off Wednesday as Hunt defended himself in his second murder trial.
Hunt, convicted five years ago Wednesday of killing a Los Angeles con man, is defending himself against a charge that he killed Hedayat Eslaminia, 56, a wealthy former adviser to the Shah of Iran.
The name Billionaire Boys Club was adopted by the scions of some of Southern California’s wealthiest families who used their inheritances to bankroll risky investments.
