Scores of Abortion Protesters Arrested

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Police arrested 73 abortion opponents Tuesday after they surged past barricades outside a clinic, police said. Five abortion-rights supporters also were arrested.
Federal marshals were ordered to arrest five anti-abortion protest leaders accused of violating a judge’s injunction against the blockading of clinics.
The five are: Joe Slovenec of Cleveland, Jeff White of Los Angeles, Kenneth Reed of Citrus Heights, Calif., Joseph Kelley of Sag Harbor, N.Y., and James Anderson of Spokane, Wash. Slovenec, White and Anderson were in custody. Reed and Kelley had gone home, marshals said.
