Ray LeBlanc, a star in the Winter Olympics, looked like anything but that in Prague, Czechoslovakia, as the United States was beaten by Finland in the World Hockey Championships, 6-1.
LeBlanc gave up two easy goals in the first 10 minutes and didn’t look sharp the rest of the way. The United States dropped to 1-2 in the tournament.
LeBlanc, a standout in helping the United States reach the medal round in the Olympics, started the championships with a 1-0 victory over Italy. But he had a tough time against Finland, which lost a medal-round berth to Team USA in the championships last year.
