Nation IN BRIEF : ARKANSAS : Hillary Clinton to Quit Firms’ Boards
- Share via
Hillary Clinton, wife of Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton, resigned from the board of three publicly held corporations because she does not have time to serve on them. “I am resigning from the board of directors of Wal-Mart Inc., TCBY Enterprises Inc., and Lafarge Corp., effective immediately, because I have concluded that my full-time participation in my husband’s presidential campaign prevents me from fulfilling my responsibilities as a director of these public companies,” she said in a statement. She will remain a member of nonprofit organizations as well as a partner in the Rose Law Firm, which represents some of the largest corporations in Arkansas.
