They Have No Trouble Condemning Scott for Opinions on Riot

Dear Byron Scott:
It is not until somebody speaks their mind that you realize what they are about. You are quoted by Mark Heisler (May 1) that you “don’t condemn the rioters. I understand exactly why they’re doing it, and I can’t condemn that.”
With your sphere of influence in this community, I believe you have just given a personal message to kids to just go along with the flow in the street, to continue to start fires, steal from stores and beat your neighbor.
I am appalled at your comments. You have made it clear that you’re no better than the people in the street, wreaking havoc on L.A.
