Shannon James, a point guard on the Rancho Alamitos girls’ basketball team, has signed a letter of intent to play at UC Irvine, Vaquero Coach Bob Becker said Friday.
James, a Times’ All-County selection this season, was instrumental in helping Rancho Alamitos win its second consecutive Garden Grove League title and the Southern Section Division III-A championship.
She averaged 17.1 points and 6.8 assists for Rancho Alamitos this season.
Alison Ward and Stacy Washington, right-handed pitchers at Woodbridge, have orally committed to colleges, Warrior Coach Alan Dugard said Friday.
Ward, who is 14-1 this season, will attend Northwestern. Washington, who is 10-2, will attend Yale. Both have pitched a perfect game and a no-hitter this year.
Scott Carter, a center-halfback on the Santa Margarita soccer team, has signed a letter of intent to attend UC Irvine, his father, Gary, said Friday.
