Burt Supree; Dance Writer, Children’s Book Author

Burt Supree, 51, a dance writer and editor most recently at the Village Voice in Manhattan but prior to that a critic for the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles Herald Examiner, the British Mirabella, Elle, Interview and Dance Ink. He also wrote a children’s dance column and was the author of three children’s books, including “Mother, Mother I Feel Sick, Send for the Doctor Quick, Quick, Quick” and “Harlequin and the Gift of Many Colors.” A native of New York City, he danced with several troupes and acted in many productions at the Judson Poets’ Theater in New York. In Manhattan on May 1 of an apparent heart attack.
