American Reportedly Considering Stake in KLM: American Airlines is talking to KLM-Royal Dutch Airways about buying a minority stake in the Netherlands’ national carrier and creating a global partnership, the Sunday Times reported. The newspaper also reported recently that British Airways has been discussing its own merger with KLM, which would create the world’s fourth-largest airline and the largest in Europe. American Airlines spokesman Steve McGregor declined to comment Sunday on the report.
