FBI agents have arrested an escaped convict in a San Diego hotel, FBI spokesman Ron Orantia said Tuesday.
William Dean Short, escaped from a prison in Muskogee, Okla., on Oct. 29 after serving less than 1 1/2 years of a 15-year sentence for armed robbery and cultivation of marijuana, said Fred Morgan, assistant district attorney for Tulsa County.
“Short had pleaded guilty on April 30, 1990, and escaped from that facility and is now Muscogee County’s responsibility,” Morgan said. “We are all through with him now.”
According to Orantia, FBI agents found Dunn at the C Street Inn in San Diego with a friend and arrested him without incident. The friend was not arrested.
Short will be extradited to Oklahoma.
