VISTA : 3 Inmates Injured in Unrest at Jail

A fight between black and Latino inmates broke out at the County Jail in Vista on Saturday night, resulting in minor injuries to three inmates, the Sheriff’s Department said.
Toilet seats and telephone receivers were broken off and used as weapons in the altercation, which began at 9:30 p.m. and was broken up by sheriff’s deputies, officials said.
Two inmates were treated at a local hospital for minor injuries and returned to the Vista facility, while a third was treated at the jail for a pencil stab wound, sheriff’s officials said.
The cause of the outbreak was not known, sheriff’s officials said.
