Macy Bondholders Lose Bid to File Plan: A bankruptcy judge gave R. H. Macy & Co. another nine months to file a reorganization plan, denying a request by creditors who wanted to file an alternative proposal. Although Bankruptcy Judge Burton R. Lifland gave Macy until Feb. 26 to file its reorganization plan, he said concerns raised by the retailer’s bondholders were well-founded, and he ordered the company to submit the outline of a plan by Sept. 15. Macy filed under Chapter 11 of the bankruptcy code in January.
