Hill led Whitney High of Cerritos to four consecutive wins in one week to propel the Wildcats into the playoffs. Hill was 8-for-15 during the week, including five doubles and a home run. He drove in 7 runs. He pitched in three games, winning one and saving another. In seven innings, he allowed two hits, walked three, struck out five and gave up one run. Whitney, which had a five-game losing streak going into the week, clinched third place in the Delphic League and a spot in the CIF Southern Section 1-A playoffs. Whitney Coach Bill Crissman said of Hill, “He is one of the seniors that stepped forward during a do-or-die situation. We couldn’t have done it without him.”
