GARDEN GROVE — Police arrested a 36-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder Thursday after officers cruising through the neighborhood heard gunshots near Magnolia Street and Garden Grove Boulevard.
Chun C. Yi, 37, was being held at Orange County Jail on suspicion of shooting 36-year-old Yong M. Pak in the leg.
Pak was found lying in a parking lot outside the Sea Food Restaurant in the 8000 block of Garden Grove Boulevard at 3 a.m., Sgt. Larry Ebelt said. Pak, who suffered gunshot wounds in the right leg, was treated at Humana Hospital-Westminster.
Police said witnesses identified Yi, who was detained in the parking lot, as the gunman.
Police do not know the motive behind the shooting, Ebelt said. The case is under investigation.
