Kellee Booth Wins Girls’ Golf Title

Kellee Booth of Coto de Caza shot a 71 Monday to cruise to a seven-shot victory in the Golf for Women Magazine tournament played on The Wigwam Resort par-70 Blue course in Litchfield Park, Ariz.

Booth, a sophomore at Santa Margarita High School, shot a 73 in the first round Saturday and came back with a 69 Sunday to finish with a three-day total of 213.

Betty Chen of La Quinta, Calif., was second at 220. Alicia Allison of Santa Ana tied for 13th at 233, and Susie Park of Buena Park tied for 15th at 235. Eunice Choi of Laguna Hills tied for 17th at 236.

Ben Garner of Lake Forest, who was tied for fourth after two rounds of the CCA junior championship in Akron, Ohio, finished Monday’s final round of the boys’ 15-18 division tied for 19th place.

Garner, a sophomore at El Toro High, shot 12-over 84 on the Firestone Country Club North course for a three-day total of 235. Brian Newton of Richardson, Tex., won at 221, and John Lee of Placentia shot 245.
