Cindy Hall Ranii has been named the new principal of Sonora High School, effective July 1.
Ranii currently is an administrator in the Fullerton Union High School District’s instructional services department. She has been with the district since 1984 and has worked as a coordinator for alternative and continuing education, and as a federal projects specialist.
“We’ve been privileged to have Cindy’s services in this district,” district Supt. Kenneth Jones said. “I’m confident that the Sonora High School community will be as enthusiastic about her services as we are.”
Ranii is a graduate of UC Berkeley and received a master’s degree in Asian Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. She is working on a doctorate in educational leadership at USC.
Ranii will take over from current Sonora Principal Ken Stichter. Stichter was promoted in March to the district’s assistant superintendent for education and administrative services.
