Customers Come Before Thieves

I wonder why the big deal about thieves (“Thwarting the Thieves,” Ventura County Life, May 21), when so many of the stores do not have people to help one purchase items. There is also nobody to help find an item. The best a customer can hope for is a cashier where one must stand in line and wait to pay.

I have walked out because I could not find a clerk to help me.
