The Pittsburgh Penguins held another Stanley Cup victory party and 35,000 fans showed up to celebrate with them at Three Rivers Stadium. This was no staid, black-tie victory dinner with stuffy speeches. This was a party, and the players were in just as playful a mood as the fans.
Mario Lemieux rode around the stadium in a convertible with the Cup beside him, and Bryan Trottier capped the hour-long rally by grabbing the 3-foot-high trophy from its resting place on the center-field stage, racing across the artificial turf and slip-sliding across the rain-slicked infield tarpaulin--twice.
