The Volvo/Los Angeles tournament will award a wild card to 36-year-old Bjorn Borg, who will join John McEnroe in the 32-player draw, Aug. 3-9 at UCLA. Borg is scheduled to end his absence from the ATP tour July 13 at the Sovran Bank Classic in Washington, D.C., and Volvo/Los Angeles officials promised him a hefty appearance fee to play the event at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.
