Are Transportation Agencies Paving Roads to Financial Ruin?
I read with interest a recent article indicating that the Transportation Corridor Agencies in Orange County are seeking federal financial guarantees for the several billion-dollar toll roads they plan to build here (“Local Officials Put Squeeze on Congress for Transit Funds,” May 7).
Another article (“Freeways: The Noisy Neighbor,” June 17) addressed the noisy and polluting L.A. freeways. I reject the notion that Orange County must continue this legacy.
There is no way on God’s increasingly less green Earth that I will allow my tax dollars to be used to finance these projects.
