Bleszynski, Jellen Win Tennis Matches

Ania Bleszynski of Thousand Oaks and Stacey Jellen of Calabasas won quarterfinal matches in the girls’ age 18 division of the Southern California Junior Sectional tennis championships onSaturday at Los Caballeros Racquet and Sports Club in Fountain Valley and will meet in a semifinal at 11 a.m. today.
Bleszynski, seeded second, beat Keri Phebus of Newport Beach, 7-5, 2-6, 6-3, and Jellen, seeded third, eliminated Erika Asmuss of Huntington Beach, 6-1, 6-0.
In boys’ play, Derek Pope of Ojai, seeded fourth in the boys’ 16 division, ousted Kevin Kim of Fullerton, 6-2, 6-4.
Both Bryan twins of Camarillo advanced in the boys’ 14 division. Bob Bryan, seeded second, topped J.R. Chidley of Riverside, 6-1, 6-3, and Mike Bryan, seeded fifth, upset fourth-seeded Joseph Gilbert of Fullerton, 6-4, 6-3.
Jessica Kessler of Studio City and Erin Boisclair of Agoura, seeded 1-2 in the girls’ 14 division, also won.
