California’s Budget Crisis
Our fat bureaucratic state education monster is screaming “tax and spend” while thrashing about. The liberal “tax and spend our future away” mentality is ready to strike again now that the governor must balance the budget. Assembly Speaker Willie Brown, state Supt. Bill Honig and liberal Democrats want to, once again, raise our taxes and extend our debt.
The state education monster says that anyone opposed to its plan does not support our children. I say that nobody wants educational cuts but ask any average family how they balance expenses. We cut the fat and reduce expenses.
Our high-paid educational bureaucrats continue in the best tradition of Congress. They refuse to hear the voice of their constituency on tax issues. They are one-dimensional with narrow vision, wrapped up only in their political kingdoms. They are willing to take more money from people who can least afford it. They are willing to continue to drive business even farther from California. They are willing to continue to finance our children’s future away. There is an attempt to drive the governor into a politically incorrect corner. Hopes are for a compromise toward tax and spending.
Take a hint, you bureaucratic beast. Do some exercise, reduce your weight. Reduce your intake of red business meat and reduce your diet of middle-income taxpayers. You will live longer.
