Kimm Rallies, Only to Lose in Golf Playoff

After making up four shots during the final round to force the tournament into a playoff, Elise Kimm of North Hollywood lost in a sudden-death playoff to Skyli Yamada of Sandy, Utah, Friday in the girls’ division of the Las Vegas Founders’ Legacy Junior golf tournament in Henderson, Nev.
Kimm fired a final-round one-over-par 73; Yamada had a five-over 77. Both players completed regulation with a nine-over 225.
Allison Wilson, also of North Hollywood, who shared the second-round lead with Yamada, had an eight-over 80, and finished fifth with a 12-over 228.
Jason Semelsberger of Newhall tied for second in the boys’ 13-14 division with a 14-over 230, 12 shots behind Michael Vera of Antioch. Nate Whitson of Ventura was a shot back in fourth.
Chad Wright of Ventura was tied for 10th in the boys’ 15-18 division with a six-over 222, 10 shots behind Chris Riley of San Diego.
