Continuing the Fight: AIDS activist-actress Elizabeth Taylor and Cirque Du Soleil forged an alliance Tuesday that will provide support for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation throughout the Cirque’s 1992-93 North American tour. To kick off the yearlong association, the circus will donate all proceeds from the opening performance of its new production, “Saltimbanco,” Oct. 9 in Santa Monica, to Taylor’s AIDS foundation. In addition, announcements seeking support will be made at every “Saltimbanco” performance and a full page, including a coupon for donations, will be included in the show’s souvenir program.
