Eastern Sierra Haul Includes 9-Pound 2-Ounce Rainbow

Big fish have become active throughout the Eastern Sierra for the first time since the opening weeks of the season, particularly in Mono County.

June Lake produced the biggest of the week, a 9-pound 2-ounce rainbow. Other catches include an 8-0 rainbow pulled from nearby Gull Lake, a 5-0 rainbow from Inyo County’s Lake Sabrina and a 4-2 rainbow from Mono’s Silver Lake.

Bridgeport’s Twin Lakes are yielding Alper’s-grown trout in the six-pound range; Mammoth Lakes have been double stocked and trout are ranging from two to eight pounds, and Convict Lake has been steadily producing two- to four-pound fish.
